They really should be called Great Partners, but I chose "Good" to encompass what I value in a Partner: being a good human by doing good to others, providing quality services and products, and working together to do what's best for the client.

  • Can a Wedding Planner save me money?
I should coin the phrase “You have to spend money to save money.” It’s true! Although you are investing in hiring a Wedding Planner, experienced Planners can save you money. Here are just a few examples: 1) pre-vetting industry professionals including understanding their pricing structures so we can recommend the ones that fit your budget, 2) building relationships with vendors who offer client discounts, and 3) knowing where to spend your money so you get the most bang for your buck.
  • What is the first step to wedding planning?
BUDGET! 90% of my clients start the planning process with no idea of what their budget is. That’s ok, since education is a big part of my job - but before a couple starts looking at venues or talking design (two of everyone’s favorite topics), they should establish 1) how much they have to spend and 2) a realistic budget. Now for the challenging part - the REALISTIC budget. Most people do not know the costs of things such as the venue, florals, and catering - and it's not always readily available online. You generally need to request a cost proposal from each vendor to get a clear picture of what you should plan on spending - or you can schedule a free 1-hour Chat + Learn with me where I can help you set budget expectations!
  • My venue has a Day-of Coordinator, so I don't need to hire a Wedding Planner - right?
Maybe yes, maybe no. First, let’s discuss the difference between a Venue Day-of Coordinator and a Wedding Planner. Generally, the Venue Coordinator will develop your day-of timeline, create your floor plan, have some communication with vendors to coordinate logistics, and be on-site to manage the venue side of the event. Now here’s a list of things a Wedding Planner will do (that a Venue Coordinator typically does not): -guide you through the entire planning process from start to finish -develop a realistic budget (and educate you on where to splurge and where to save) -help bring your design ideas to life -review vendor proposals and contracts -be a sounding board (and maybe a therapist at times) throughout the planning process -give you access to a thorough online planning software including a checklist, guest list manager, design studio, and a place to store all vendor information -closely monitor and manage your day-of timeline, including making sure bridal party and family are where they need to be, when they need to be, and photography timeline is on track To further confuse the matter, Wedding Planners offer a day-of coordination service. If you are simply looking at “terms”, then of course you wouldn’t go out and hire a Day-of Wedding Coordinator when you have a Day-of Venue Coordinator. Make sure to ask your venue for a detailed breakdown of what the Coordinator will and will not do so you can make an informed decision on whether or not you need additional support from a Wedding Planner.
  • I am having a small wedding, do I really need to hire a Wedding Planner?
Even small weddings can benefit from a Wedding Planner! Small weddings still have many of the same needs as a large wedding: vendor selection and booking, design and décor, timeline planning, someone to run rehearsal and ceremony, and a day-of contact for vendors and the venue. Having a Wedding Planner on your side can ensure a seamless planning process and flawless wedding day.
  • Should I hire a Wedding Planner before selecting a venue?
Yes, yes, yes! This is one of the biggest mistakes I see couples make: selecting a venue and then hiring a Wedding Planner. There are so many questions to ask a potential venue to ensure they are a good fit. There can be hidden costs associated with venues such as having to rent tables, chairs, linens, or tableware. If you hire a Wedding Planner prior to touring venues, they can assist you in the selection process.
